GOLF SOCIETY
In 1961 the Court gave permission for the formation of a Golfing Society. Our Livery Company has a vibrant Golf Society. Handicaps range from 4 to 40. It’s free to join, if interested, please email the Secretary with your name and mobile number.
Join the GSWD Golf Society!
Are you looking for a fun and friendly way to enjoy golf, meet new people, and share good times? The GSWD Golf Society is welcoming new members – and you don’t need to be a pro to take part!
We’re all about enjoying the game, the company, and a relaxed atmosphere. Whether you’re a regular golfer or just play occasionally, you’ll fit right in.
Dates for 2026
We’ve already booked three great outings for 2026:
Wednesday 29th April – Tyrrells Wood Golf Club
Tuesday 2nd June – West Surrey Golf Club
Monday 7th September – Ashridge Golf Club
We meet at noon, enjoy lunch at 12:30, and tee off at 2 pm
perfectly timed to avoid morning and evening traffic.
Who We Are
Our society began back in the 1960s and has a proud history of bringing golfers together. Over the years, our numbers have dropped, and now we’re keen to welcome new members of all abilities to help us grow again.
We currently have around nine regular players, and we’d love to expand our group by a few more. More members mean more fun – and ensures the society can continue well into the future.
What We Offer
3 games per year at fantastic local courses
Friendly competition with fun prizes (wine and monogrammed golf balls!)
Great value: typically £100 per person for lunch and a round of golf
A relaxed, welcoming environment where the focus is on enjoyment
Get Involved!
- If this sounds like your kind of golf society, we’d love to hear from you. Send us an email, and we’ll add you to our mailing list, so you’ll be the first to hear about upcoming games and events.
Don’t miss out on the chance to join a friendly group of golfers who play for the love of the game, good company, and a bit of fun competition.
Kind regards,
Henry Hobson
